Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) seeks to obtain market research information from sources capable of fully satisfying information contained herein. NSWCDD seeks a vendor to provide portable ruggedized computers with an integrated touch screen display to use as a platform for a modular RF signal generation test system. This computer must be man portable and ruggedized to survive in a shipboard environment (vibration), and be routinely shipped via FedEx (shock). Weight and Reliability are the major design considerations for this system. The portable computer solution will have an RF data path installed after delivery. An Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) Card will be added (either full length PCI or PXI). The AWG card output will be routed back into the computer and to RF components, which will be installed inside the computer case. The output of the RF components will be routed to RF connectors mounted on the computer case. Two RS232 serial ports are required to control the internal RF components. The portable computer solution will be operated in two positions. One is on a work bench with the touch screen vertical like a typical monitor. The other is sitting on the floor with the touch screen facing upwards (horizontal). In either configuration, all of the connectors and cables should have a minimum of a half inch clearance from the floor and should not bend in a way that would cause stress to either the cable or connector. The system requirements are as follows: Case requirements:.The case must be portable and ruggedized..The weight should not exceed 30lbs. (target is 20lbs)..Integrated touch screen display, min 6 in diagonal size..Case size should not exceed 18in by 14in by 12in..Able to route Arbitrary Waveform Generator Card outputs (two SMA cables) back into case..External surface area to add five 1in by 1in connectors. One Type N connector and four BNC. Space requirements for RF components (space must be adjacent to area for external connectors). Only one of the following is required:.Two 5.25 drive bays adjacent top to bottom (approximately 5.75in by 8in by 3.25in).Four additional adjacent full length PCI slots (approximately 13.5in by 4in by 3in).Four 3.5in drive bays adjacent top to bottom (approximately 5.5in by 4in by 4).Volume that is approximately 100in cubed. Minimum size in one direction is 4in and minimum in another direction is 2in. Computer requirements:.Certified to pass shock and vibration tests.Must be powered by 120V AC..12V DC (approximately 2A) must be easily available from power supply for RF components..Two Serial RS232 COM ports are required (preferrably soldered to motherboard or expansion card)..Two USB ports are required..Two full length PCI/PXI slots are required (approximately 13.5in by 4in). One for a full length PCI card and the second for air flow around the car..Memory should be standard DRAM..Standard PC hard drive (3.5in or 2.5in)..Windows 7 or Windows XP operating system..Intel Dual Core processor (or higher) or AMD Athlon X2 processor (or higher) Responses to this Sources Sought should incorporate as much detailed information as possible to include, but not limited to:?Proposed Computer Design?Provide manufacturer/developer name ?White papers and/or product literature that describe the proposed solution, including system weight, ruggedization techniques used, and proposed RF Component Space.?Mechanical Drawings of the proposed solution?Estimated solution cost/pricing structure?Point of Contact Information?Corporate points of contact.?Technical points of contact. There is no page restriction associated with this Sources Sought; however, an executive summary, not to exceed five pages, should accompany each submission. All submissions shall be UNCLASSIFIED and include a hard copy version along with one electronic (soft) copy on a CD-ROM formatted for a personal computer. E-MAIL submissions are not permitted.
