- THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF RFP ISSUANCE. THIS EFFORT IS CONSIDERED COMMERCIAL IN NATURE AND ANY RESULTANT CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED IAW FAR PART 12. Cape Canaveral Air Station anticipates a competitive acquisition to restore valuable Bomarc Missile. Restoration will consist of stripping paint, repair of all corroded airframe skins, internal corrosion preventative maintenance, correct color, markings, insignias, and a display stand with locking casters. Scope of work includes crane support, lifting eyes, pick-up and return transportation. All sources capable of providing these services are being sought. In addition to the information provided below entitled "Capabilities Package," responding parties must also indicate their size status in relation to the applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 3721 (size standard $1,500 Million) and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 336411. Sources with HubZone, 8(a) status or otherwise classified as a small disadvantaged veteran owned business should address their status in their responses. Capabilities Package. All interested firms should submit a capabilities package that outlines the firm's capabilities in providing the required services. Contractor is required to provide all management and labor required for the operation and management of the required services. If subcontracts are to be used, provide anticipated percentage of effort to be subcontracted and whether small or large businesses will be used. The capabilities package should be brief and concise, yet clearly demonstrate an ability to meet the stated requirements. Recent, relevant experience in all areas should be provided. Teaming and/or subcontracting arrangements should be clearly delineated and previous experience in teaming must be provided. In addition, interested parties must answer the following questions: 1) Have you ever restored large historic missile or relevant aerospace artifacts? Describe. 2) Have you ever been required to meet requirements of a State Historic Preservation Office? Describe. 3) How do you ensure environmental compliance when carrying out repairs, paint removal and painting of large historic artifacts? What environmental permits do you presently hold? 4) Have you had to research and assemble a Color Marking Index for an historic aerospace artifact before? Describe.
