Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 260 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ 07724 intends to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Innovations program. The TAC intends to award a sole source, a six (6) month, firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract to Four Points Technology, LLC, 5160 Parkstone Drive, Suite 190A, Chantilly, VA 20151, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) pursuant to authority 38 U.S.C. 8127(c), Veterans First Contracting Program and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-5, "Authorized or required by statute" to develop a prototype enhancement to the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) under Innovation Project 117, CPRS Follow-up Alerts. The CPRS is a Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) software application that runs on Microsoft Windows and text-based terminals. CPRS enables care providers to create, read, and update patient information. The system can be used to order lab tests, medications, diets, radiology tests, procedures, track reactions to medications, request and track consults, enter progress notes, diagnoses, and treatments for each encounter, and enter discharge summaries. The contractor will provide a Follow-up Alerts mechanism in CPRS that allows a clinician to choose the timing and content of a CPRS alert that he/she would generate for themselves or others. This project will be developed at the Ann Arbor, Virginia hospital location with the intention that new development will eventually be incorporated into the Class I national version of CPRS under a separate contract action. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) for this effort is 541511. The estimated date of award for this action is September 24, 2010. This notification shall close on August 18, 2010. Questions shall be submitted to the iris.farrell@va.gov. The Points of Contact (POCs) for this action are Iris Farrell, Contract Specialist, iris.farrell@va.gov and Anne Marie Vasconcelos, Contracting Officer, anne.vasconcelos@va.gov.
