- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) of the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command proposes to procure six (6) DZM2 Military Keypads, P/N: FCDZM200DIM; and four (4) Iridium Cradles (Mk3), P/N: FC9505/A38999M3M. AATD has designed and developed the stand-alone communications upgrade for a number of currently fielded UH-60 helicopters utilizing SATCOM radio, LOS radio, and Iridium phone Command and Control (C2) capability. The DZM2 and Mk3 Cradle elements will improve utility, performance and ruggedness of the C2 system. The total system to which this equipment is key is in support of overseas contingency operations in geographically complex terrain contested by irregular forces where areas of radio and/or mobile phone interference are common. This product is the recommended solution to provide the required satellite-based cell phone communication link for the C2 requirements. We intend to award a FAR part 12 commercial order to World Wide Technology, Inc., located at 58 Weldon Parkway, Maryland heights, MO 63043-3101. Market research has indicated that World Wide Technologies is the only US distributor authorized at this time to distribute the specific second-generation design multi-link communications hub/control head DZM2 (P/N: FCDZM200DIM) and Iridium Cradle (Mk3) (P/N: C9505/A38999M3M). World Wide Technologies meets the qualification requirements for this award. A single firm fixed price contract is anticipated. Delivery of these items is intended for the Aviation Applied Technology Directorate, Fort Eustis, Virginia within 4 weeks of award. Inspection/Acceptance and FOB Point are destination, AATD, Fort Eustis, Virginia. This procurement will be solicited, evaluated, and awarded using FAR Part 12 procedures. This requirement is under NAICS code 517210, Wireless Telecommunications Carriers (except satellite). Specifications, plans, or drawings relating to this procurement described are not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement and submitting a quote. Existing product literature generally available in industry should be submitted with your quote. All responsible sources that submit an offer will be considered. Alpha contracting methods with World Wide Technology, inc. will be utilized. A solicitation document is not available. Proposals are due August 16, 2010, 5:00 PM, E.S.T.
