- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to procure rack mountable PCs. CLIN 0001 (19) rack mountable PCs that include these salient high level requirements: 19 wide rack mountable PC chassis with no less than five (5) expansion slots, no more than 3U high, and contains the following installed hardware components: (a) A single processor motherboard with (a-1)capability to support Intel Xeon X3300 series multi-core processors, (a-2) at least five (5) PCI / PCI-X slots (minimum two (2) that are 32bit 5V PCI and two (2) that are 64bit 3.3V PCI-X), (a-3)capability to support a total system memory up to at least 8GB, (a-4) capability to support at least six (6) 3Gbps SATA hard drives in a RAID 0, 1, or 5 configuration. (b) Single Quad-Core Intel Xeon X3370 / 3.00GHz processor, (c) 4GB (2x2GB) of 800MHz, DDR2 ECC unbuffered system memory, (d) Motherboard SATA controllers and cabling to support at least six (6) of the eight (8) removable drive slots in a RAID 0, 1, or 5 configuration (e) A power supply of at least 550 Watts, (f) Support for at least eight (8) 3.5-inch, 3Gbps, hot-swap, removable SATA Hard Drives w/ carriers, (g) Two (2) 200GB (or larger), 7.2K RPM, SATA-II, 3Gbps, 3.5-inch, hot-plug Hard Drives installed in carriers & inserted in the first two available removable drive slots. Configure drives as Just a Bunch of Drives (JBOD) with NO striping or mirroring, (h) At least two (2) half-height by 5.25-inch wide bays of additional peripheral space, (i) One (1) integrated DVD-R/W Optical Drive which may use one of the two 5.25-inch bays, (j) One (1) integrated 1.44-MB, 3.5-inch diskette/floppy drive. The PCs shall be preconfigured with Windows 7 Professional Version loaded onto a 50 GB C: partition of the primary (1st) hard drive and be equipped with rack mount slides. Detailed specifications for the Chassis, Peripherals & Drive Requirements are as follows: Supermicro chassis model SC833T-550B (brandname or equal) which meets (or exceeds) the following listed minimum requirements: (a) Chassis shall be 19 wide rack mountable using no more that 3U (5.25 inches) of vertical space and no more than 28 inches of depth. Chassis colored black is preferred, (b) Chassis shall come with one (1) pair of adjustable full extension ball bearing rails/slides to facilitate rack mounting. Expected rack vertical mounting bars will be separated 28" to 30" front to rear, (c) Chassis shall contain a single power supply of at least 550W with appropriate power cord at least six (6) feet long having a 15 Amp style wall plug, (d) Chassis shall contain support & space for eight (8) 3.5-inch, hot-swap, removable SATA Hard Drives with carriers, (e) Chassis shall contain a SATA backplane(s) capable of supporting eight (8) hot-pluggable bays for 3.5-inch SATA hard drives in carriers and shall contain two (2) 200GB (or larger), 7.2K RPM, SATA-II, 3Gbps, 3.5-inch, hot-plug Hard Drives installed in carriers & inserted in the first two available drive slots, (f) Chassis shall contain SATA hard drive controllers and cabling needed to support at least six (6) of the eight (8) removable drive slots. The remaining two (2) removable drive slots can be left unsupported. i.e. No controller or cabling support required, (g) Chassis shall contain at least two (2) half-height by 5.25-inch wide bays of additional peripheral space, (h) System shall contain one (1) integrated internal DVD-R/W Optical Drive. The DVD-R/W may be installed in one of the available half-height peripheral bays, (i) Chassis shall contain a single, integrated, internal, 1.44-MB, 3.5-inch diskette drive, (j) Chassis rear panel shall have a minimum of the following external interfaces: (j-1) Two (2) RJ-45 ports for integrated 1-GB Network Interface Card, (j-2) At least one (1) Standard 9-pin Serial Port, (j-3) At least one (1) Standard 25-pin Parallel Port, (j-4) At least two (2) USB 2.0-compliant Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports, (j-5) One (1) Video 15-pin VGA port, and (j-6) Two (2) PS/2 ports for Keyboard and Mouse. (k) Chassis shall utilize at least four (4) hot-plug type internal cooling fans to facilitate air flow through the chassis for cooling. Detailed specifications for the System / Motherboard Requirements are as follows: Supermicro motherboard model X7SBA (brandname or equal) which meets (or exceeds) the following listed minimum requirements (a) System shall contain a single processor motherboard capable of supporting an Intel Xeon X3300 series multi-core processor and capable of supporting a total system memory up to at least 8GB of unbuffered ECC or non-ECC DDR2 800MHz. System shall contain one (1) Quad-Core Intel Xeon E3370 / 3.00GHz (or better) processor, 12MB of L2 Cache, and supporting a 1333MHz Front Side Bus. System shall contain a minimum of 4GB (2x2GB) of 800MHz, DDR2 ECC unbuffered system memory, (b) System shall contain an integrated SATA 3Gbps host bus adapter capable of supporting RAID 0, 1, or 5, (c) To support the use of required PCI boards to be installed by the end user, the system s motherboard shall contain at least five (5) PCI / PCI-X slots (supportable by the chassis rear panel) with a Minimum of two (2) PCI 5-V, 32-bit, 33-MHz slots and a Minimum of two (2) PCI-X 3.3-V, 64-bit, 133/100-MHz slots, (d) To support integration into existing KVM architecture without consuming PCI slot resources, the system s motherboard shall contain integrated video with a minimum of 32MB Video memory and one 15-pin VGA connector. Resolutions required are 1600 x 1200 with 64 K color graphics (minimum) and 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768, 800 x 600 & 640 x 480 in true-color graphics, (e) To support integration into existing network architecture without consuming PCI slot resources, the system s motherboard shall contain two (2) integrated Gigabit Ethernet NICs, capable of supporting 10-Mbps, 100-Mbps, & 1000-Mbps data rates, (f) To support integration into existing system architecture without consuming PCI slot resources, the system s motherboard shall contain a minimum of the following external interfaces: At least one (1) Standard 9-pin Serial Port, At least one (1) Standard 25-pin Parallel Port, At least two (2) USB 2.0-compliant Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports and Two (2) PS/2 ports for Keyboard and Mouse. Software, Setup, & other Capabilities requirements are: (a) System hard drives will come configured as Just a Bunch of Drives (JBOD) with NO striping or mirroring. A 50 GB partition will be created on the primary (1st) hard drive to accept OS installation, (b) System shall come preconfigured with Windows 7 Professional installed on the 50 GB partition created on the primary (1st) hard drive, (c) System shall contain Health Monitoring Circuitry that monitors operation of the system fans, critical system voltages and temperatures. The System s documentation shall be available via Electronic Documentation on CD. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number is N00178-10-Q-3571. The required delivery is 30 days after award. Award is to be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. A Firm Fixed Price order will be awarded. The NAICS Code is 334111 and the FSC Code is 7021. Pricing will be FOB Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 6220 Tisdale Road, Suite 159, Dahlgren, Virginia 22448-5114. Quotes shall include all shipping charges and warranty information. Vendor name and part number for the proposed chassis and motherboard shall be specified. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATION AS ALL ITEMS ARE IDENTIFIED IN THIS NOTICE. The closing date is 23 August 2010. Anticipated award date is 9 September 2010.
