- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a requirement to provide up to 470 Response Boat-Small (RB-S) boats to various shore units in order to perform Ports, Waterways, and Coastal Security (PWCS), Search and Rescue (SAR), Drug Interdiction (DRUG), Alien Migrant Interdiction Operations (AMIO), Living Marine Resources (LMR), Defense Readiness (DR) and Other Law Enforcement (OLE) missions. This procurement will also include up to 20 boats for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and 10 boats for the U.S. Navy (USN) for a procurement total of up to 500 boats. This procurement is for the recapitalization of the current fleet of Response Boat-Homeland Security (RB-HS) and RB-S boats that together comprise the Defender Class of boats that were procured under a competitive commercial contract awarded in 2002. The RFP is expected to be released the week of 16 AUG 2010 via the Federal Business Opportunity (FedBizOpps) web page at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation and specification will not be issued. It is incumbent upon offerors to monitor the FedBizOpps web page for RFP release and all subsequent amendments. The NAICS is 336612 (Boat Building). The USCG intends to conduct the solicitation as a competitive small business set-aside, with award being made to the responsible Offeror whose proposal contains the combination of those criteria offering the best overall value to the Government using the tradeoff continuum in accordance with FAR 12.602(c). Please direct all inquiries to the Contract Specialist, Mr. Todd W. Blose via e-mail at Todd.W.Blose@uscg.mil. Contractors doing business with the Government are required to register in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database before they can be awarded a contract. A template containing the information for registration can be found at: http://www.ccr.gov. All responsible small business sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Government.
