Description
AMENDMENT 1 TO RFQ 10HQQQ0108: The following information is hereby incorporated into RFQ 10HQQQ0108: RFQ 10HQQQ0108 Addendum(Post - Site Visit)August 10, 2010 PROJECT TITLE:Advanced Systems Center (ASC) Space Alterations PROJECT NUMBER:DC-180 (10) U. S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, NATIONAL CENTERBRANCH OF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT12201 SUNRISE VALLEY DRIVE, MAILSTOP 209RESTON, VIRGINIA 20192 RFQ Addendum NotesAugust 10, 2010 On page 6 of 27: ASC Access Requirements and Special Security Clearance Requirement:The recommended maximum escorting and supervision ratio is one (1) TS/SCI cleared individual for five (5) non-cleared individuals. Be mindful every non-TS/SCI employee will need to be supervised by a TS/SCI supervisor at all times, which means more than likely there should be at least 2 TS/SCI supervisors on site at all times.On page 6 of 27: Emergency Generator and Uninterruptible Power System (UPS):"The new load center panel will be connected to and fed by the existing Uninterruptible Power System (UPS), (and not by the Emergency Power system)."The load testing for the Emergency Generator is recommended to occur for a period of one (1) week, and can be done so using a 3-phase CT monitor at the Zenith ATS-CE panel located in the Equipment Room."The new 100-amp panel shall be served by existing UPS panel labelled "STS-1". The Contractor shall relocate an existing 20-amp circuit breaker to a blank space to obtain three (3) adjacent spaces on this panel. This will allow the Contractor to then install the required 3-pole circuit breaker for the circuit that will serve the new 100-amp panel. On page 6 of 27: Room 1E-116, Large Conference Room & New Audio-Visual (A/V) Control Room:"The Contractor shall furnish and install foam insulation into the interior of existing metal 3-0 x 7-0 door frames. Two locations are at Conference Room 1E-116, and one is located at the entrance to the new Audio-Visual Control Room.On page 8 of 27: Corridor 1E-138 Area: "For all areas where wallpaper is removed and drywall is installed, paint areas with new custom-mixed color to match existing wall paper, from floor upward to existing acoustical ceiling. On page 10 of 27:"Just to confirm that it will be a requirement of the Contractor to furnish and install the building-standard carpet indicated. On page 13 of 27:"Add in the following information: Knowledge of Subcontractors/Vendors requested by Contractor's at site visit: For disassembly, relocation, and assembly of modular systems furniture, the following vendor is capable of performing this type of work on the USGS campus, and is extremely knowledgeable of the specific methods used for modular furniture work at the facility: Metro Install13931 Willard RoadChantilly, VA 20151(703) 378-6663 For testing and evaluation of emergency generators and UPS systems at the ASC Building, the following vendor is capable of performing operations/maintenance of these types of systems at the USGS campus, and is extremely knowledgeable of the systems that are required to be tested as part of this project: NVE, Inc.11491 Sunset Hills Road, Suite 325Reston, VA 20190-5244Attn: Mr. Neil S. Villarin, Vice PresidentUSGS site Project Manager: Mr. Russ McLaughlin, (703) 648-7563 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Question 1: What is the height of the ceiling?Answer 1: From ceiling tiles to roof the height is approximately 8-10 feet. Question 2: For saw cutting and other work which will produce a large amount of noise, what time will these types of construction projects be performed? Answer 2: All construction must be done during normal business hours only, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. See "Hours of Work" in the SOW. Question 3: How thick are the concrete floors?Answer 3: 10-inch steel fiber concrete slab-on-grade, with #5 at 6 inches O.C. each way, over vapor barrier, barrier of 1-inch sand and 5-inch compacted gravel. ADDITIONAL NOTES: "If any supplies or information needs to be sent to the ASC building please send them to: USGS/ASC, 12201 Sunrise Valley Dr, Reston, VA 20192."The light fixtures that fall where the new wall is to be installed needs to be relocated to area 1E-109."All TS/SCI information needs to be faxed to Derek Smith at (703) 648-7873 at the time quotes are due, 08/17/2010 at 10:00 AM EST. Contractors shall provide the following information for each TS/SCI employee who will be working this project: Name, Social Security Number (SSN), Date of Birth, Date of certification, TS/SCI access level (i.e. SI, TK), and your company's security department's point of contact (POC). "The delivery date for this project has been extended to November 15, 2010. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
