- The Norfolk District is offering for sale approximately 3,621 tons of standing pine sawtimber, 8,976 tons of standing pine chip & saw, 5,103 tons of standing pine pulpwood, 2,056 tons of standing hardwood sawtimber, and 1,320 tons of standing hardwood pulpwood on approximately 323 acres in the controlled access area at Fort A.P. Hill, Bowling Green, Virginia. The total number of items for this sale is one (1). Part 3 which consists of 46 Acres must be harvested prior to 30 September 2010. The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers on August 17 or 20, 2010 starting at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements for inspections should be made by contacting Mr. Paul Carter, at (757) 201-7822 or Mr. Larry Capelle at 804 633-8409. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010 by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1096, and then and there publicly opened and announced. Forms for use in submitting bids may be obtained from Mr. Carter or Mr. Capelle at Fort A.P. Hill or from the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, address shown above. Terms and conditions of sale, procedure for submitting bids, and a description of the timber are contained in the bid forms. All items of this sale will be sold by WEIGHT.
