- Description
- This is a notice of intent to issue a contract for design-build construction services required to provide patient lift installation based on room design and layout in various rooms located at the Dorn VAMC in Columbia, SC. This acquisition is a 100% total set-aside for service disabled veteran owned small business concerns in accordance with PL 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Health Care and Information Technology Act of 2006. The successful contractor shall interface with the equipment manufacturer to determine pertinent equipment parameters, specifications and operational requirements. Upon approval of the design the contractor shall provide all supervision, labor materials and equipment necessary to complete installation of patient lifts. The value of teh construction is estimated to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the total time allowed for project completion from notice to proceed to finish is 365 calendar days. A pre-bid site visit will be held on August 24, 2010 in building 20, infrastructure conference room at 10:00 a.m. at which time prospective offerors will have an opportunity to participate in an organized site visit. Additional request for site visits will not be conducted. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly encouraged as this will be the only opportunity to investigate the location of the patient lifts. The Government intends to award a firm fixed-price design-build construction contract in accordance with FAR Part 15. The Solicitation for this project shall be posted to FedBizOpps website on or about the week of August 16, 2010. RFIs/Questions resulting from the pre-bid site visit shall be received via email by the close of business September 3, 2010. The contracting office will not maintain a bidders mailing list.
