Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Indian Head Division, has a requirement for a tensile and compression test machine to be installed at a new Naval Packaging, Handling facility being constructed at Picatinny Arsenal, Picatinny, NJ. The solicitation will be posted to NECO/FBO when available. This tensile and compression testing machine will have a dedicated control system and will be used to test a variety of Navy slings, metal strapping, web strapping, beams, latches, shock mounts, bolts, metal samples, forgings and other commodities. This tensile and compression test machine must have a capacity of 200,000 pounds in both tensile and compression. A load measurement accuracy of at least +/- 0.5% between the test ranges of 400 pounds and 200,000 pounds is required with a position accuracy of at least +/- 0.1% and a speed accuracy of at least +/- 0.1%. NSWC Indian Head requires the tensile and compression machine, screw covers, extra length screw covers, solid flat grips, solid vee grips, columns and screws for extra height, T-slotted tables mounted with top and bottom cross heads, a safety cage with front and rear doors, a strobe light interface, a strain module, additional modules for strain gage instruments, software, and a digital controller with a monitor and printer. Installation and training are required. These items are to be shipped FOB Destination, Picatinny, NJ. The NAICS Code is 334519 with a size standard of 500 employees. The FSC Code is 6635. This procurement is set aside 100% for small business concerns.
