Description
Amendment to solicitation SB1341-10-RQ-0583 High Performance Liquid Chromatography System. The above referenced solicitation is hereby amended to respond to technical questions submitted, incorporate technical changes, and extend the due date for quotations. 1) Technical questions and responses are hereby provided: QUESTION #1: Line Item 0003, Specification #3 states the pumping system shall provide outputs ranging from at least 0.1 µL/min to 5.0 µL/min. Is this correct? RESPONSE #1: This is incorrect. The correct specification is 0.1 µL/min to 5.0 mL/min. QUESTION #2: What is the required pressure for the pump? PSI limit? RESPONSE #2: The maximum output pressure for the pump is specified to be 40 MPa. QUESTION #3: Will an autosampler with 100 sample capacity be acceptable? RESPONSE #3: Yes QUESTION #4: Will a diode array detector with a wavelength range from 190nm-640nm be acceptable? RESPONSE #4: No, the maximum wavelength in the diode array must be at least 800nm. QUESTION #5: Line Item 0008, Specification #2 states that an end-capped C18 column, similar in characteristics to a Restek Corp Pinnacle DB C18 column shall be provided. Can you please clarify what particle size, length, and inner diameter is preferred for this column? RESPONSE #5: Typically, this would be a 3 µm particle size (spherical) with a 3.2 mm inner diameter and a 30 mm length, although the actual column dimensions should be chosen to maximize performance with the supplied hardware. 2) The following changes are hereby incorporated to the specifications under Line Item 0006. 2.1) Specification #2 changed to read as follows: From: Wavelengths measured shall range from 190 nm - 800 nm with a dual light source consisting of deuterium and tungsten lamps. To: Wavelengths measured shall range from at least 190 nm - 800 nm with a dual light source consisting of deuterium and tungsten lamps. 3) The due date for quotations is hereby extended: From: 3:00 PM eastern time, on August 10, 2010. To: 3:00 PM eastern time, on August 13, 2010.
