- Description
- The USDA Forest Service, Umatilla National Forest, Pendleton OR, in conjunction with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, has a requirement for GPS receivers and VHF beacons suitable for elk and big horn sheep for the continued monitoring of current locations and movement patterns. The receivers have a custom automated telemetry system designed and supplied by Lotek Wireless to be used on current Lotek collars. The Blue Mountain Acquisition Management Area intends to purchase these receivers and beacons as a Sole Source acquisition from Lotek Wireless Inc. of Newmarket, ON, Canada due to the compatability issues of collars already in use. The requirement is for: GPS receiver and VHF beacon suitable for elk and big horn sheep with ARGOS communications and automated drop off of collar. VHF beacon 150-151 mhz for 10 frequencies. VHF battery must be sufficient to provide 3.5 years of signals. Purchase price is estimated $25,000 - $100,000 This notice represents the only official notice of this purchase. This notice is NOT a request for proposals; however, all submittals received by the due date set forth in this notice will be considered by the Government. It is believed that Lotek is the only entity with the necessary products that will satisfy the requirement. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
