Description
This is for T-34, T-44 and T-6 Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) services to provide post-production contractor maintenance and logistics support. The J&A is required to allow a six-month extension to the existing contract. The current contract number is N00019-06-D-0017, period of performance is 01 June 2006 through 30 September 2010. The six-month extension would run from 01 October 2010 through 31 March 2011. The current contractor, Sikorsky Support Services, Inc. of Pensacola, FL provides CLS service for the T-34, T-44 and T-6. Similar services on the different aircraft occur at the same sites. The mission of the T-34 aircraft assigned to the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) is to provide primary flight training to student naval aviators. The T-6 is replacing the T-34 to accomplish the same mission; The mission of the T-44 aircraft assigned to CNATRA is to train student naval aviators to fly multi-engine turbo-prop aircraft. In addition, twenty-one T-34 aircraft are assigned to various satellite sites and are used for range clearance/coordination, tactical strike observation, chase/pace/spotter, pilot proficiency, competitive exercise observer platforms and to perform, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) of various projects. T-6, T-34 and T-44 aircraft are used for Naval Aviator training. Chief, Naval Air Training Command (CNATRA) is responsible for producing Naval Aviators to meet the skill requirements of the Fleet customers. Follow-on efforts will be competitively awarded.
