- *******SEND ALL CORRESPONDANCE TO BETSY ANDERSON/DFI ATELIZABETH.S.ANDERSON@NASA.GOV OR VIA FAX 256-544-6560 *********NASA/MSFC has a requirement for a portable laptop with Rhythm Acquire and Rhythm Reviewto augment the Computed Radiography CRxFlex system at MSFC.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the portable laptop from GE Inspection Technologies on asole source basis. GE's Rhythm Software will seamlessly work the existing MSFC film digitizer (FS50) andcomputed radiography equipment (CRxFlex). The proposed laptop could be used with existingsystem, and could be used as a back-up, out in a field environment, and in an emergencysituation workstation for our in-house Rhythm Tower PC analysis system. Obtaining asystem from a competing vendor would render the existing equipment unusable in the field.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Betsy Anderson no later than 12 NOON CST on August 11,2010. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
