Description
NAVAIRSYSCOM PMA273 TH-57 Integrated Product Team (IPT) will be conducting a MARKET SURVEY August 25/26, 2010 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Whiting Field, Milton, FL. This MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if commercial and/ or non-developmental items are available to meet the Government's needs or could be modified to meet the Government's needs. The need is to upgrade the six TH-57 Full Motion Simulators (FMS) located at NAS Whiting Field from the current TH-57C analog flight instrument configuration to the TH-57D digital flight instrument configuration. This effort will include: incorporation of new flight control stability augmentation system functionality into the existing physics based flight model, update/correction of the aerodynamic model, and improved visual display system to substantially expand the field of view. The cockpit modification/upgrade will include necessary modifications to the simulator operating systems and instructor operator stations as required to support functionality of the new ARINC 429 data bus based avionics suite and associated system setup and operating requirements. Currently, Training Wing Five (TRAWING Five) is utilizing six full motion simulators in the TH-57C cockpit configuration to support training student naval aviators in the Intermediate and Advanced Helicopter Training (IHT/AHT) programs. In order to maintain concurrency with the aircraft these six simulators must be incrementally converted to the TH-57D configuration as aircraft cockpits are converted to the "D" configuration. As part of this effort, the TH-57C FMS and TH-57D cockpit avionics kits will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). Cockpit kit functionality documentation will also be provided as GFI to facilitate cockpit integration and documentation. These six simulators have recently undergone service life extension programs (SLEP) with the sixth and final device completing this SLEP effort in Spring 2011.
