- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement for the installation of ABB UNITROL Static Excitation Systems for Mobile District Project West Point Dam and lake, GA. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, ABB under authority of FAR 6.302. At the time of procurement for the Static Excitation Systems, it was the Governments intent to perform the installation, but the current workload at both powerhouses is preventing this work from taking place. Had the current circumstances been anticipated at the time of procurement, the installation would have been included in the supply contract awarded to ABB. ABB is the product manufacturer; therefore, technical problems will be minimized on the installation and the warranty will not be compromised. Moreover, under the current contract for the equipment, ABB is required to conduct the commissioning and training for the systems. Therefore, it is determined to be in the Governments best interest to have ABB install the systems. It is anticipated that a Firm-Fixed-Price Contract will be awarded. The (NAICS) code is 811310 and the number dollar amount is $7.0M. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received within fifteen calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
