- Customs and Border Protection intends to award a sole source purchase order for rental furniture to Office Furniture Rental Alliance (OFRA) under the authority of FAR 6.302.1. This synopsis is being published for informational purposes only. Notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The purpose of this sole source is to only fulfill an immediate bonafide need of the government. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) continues to have growth in staffing. Rental furniture has allowed CBP to setup offices quickly to accommodate that need. A plan to replace rental furniture with permanent furniture has begun, but replacement must be done in stages. The cost associated to replace all the rental furniture at the same time is exorbitant and would prohibit the staff from working. A total work stoppage of CBP would endanger the mission and cannot be allowed. OFRA is the only known vendor that can satisfy the need of the government since they already have the furniture in place. This acquisition is being procured under FAR part 6 and will result in the issuance of one (1) blanket purchase order.
