- This is a special notice for commercial items prepared in accordance with (IAW) the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only notice; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The United States Air Force (USAF) intends to award a sole source, commercial, firm-fixed price award to Schleuniger Inc., for the purchase of a CoaxStrip 5400 Coaxial Cable Stripping Machine. This solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-32, 31 March 2009, DFARS Change Notice 20090115, NAICS Code: 333999, FOB Destination Robins AFB, GA. Schleuniger Inc is the only company that makes this particular type of coaxial stripper. There are other types of hand held coaxial strippers, but they will not satisfy the tolerances that we require for cable assemblies in our lab. The CoaxStrip 5400 has the capability of linking with a laptop or desktop to store programs for different types of connectors. Having the ability to retrieve these programs eliminates the step of inputting the dimensions for strip lengths each time at initial set-up.
