The goals of OperationIceBridge are to study and monitor the changing areas of the Cryosphere, areas of frozenwater, including the Earths ice sheets and sea ice and glaciers. Operation IceBridgewill use airborne platforms to maintain altimetry time series and monitor important areasof land ice and sea ice until the launch of NASAs next satellite-lidar mission. Theintent of this effort is as follows: Proess data from the Greenland 2010 Campaign anddistributing to data center; Deployment and support of instruments for the flightoperations of the DC-8 (a four engine turbine aircraft) for the Antarctic 2010 Campaign. NASA will operate the aircraft during the campaign; ATM will be provided flight time.Collecting altimetry data during the Antarctic 2010 Campaign; and Processing data fromthe Antarctic 2010 Campaign and distributing to data center. This task under the HBScontract will be performed utilizing American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds.<P>NASA/GSFC has awarded task 57 under Contract NNG09HP18C with Sigma Space Corporation. Contract NNG09HP18C with Sigma Space Corporation is a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contractand was awarded on June 15, 2009, on a competitive basis.
