Description
The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center, Detachment Norfolk VA, intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry-dock and repairs to the USCGC POMPANO (WPB-87339) 87-FOOT PATROL BOAT. The vessel is home ported in Gulfport, MS. The NAICS Code is 336611. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside. Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued on or about October 5, 2010. There is a Geographical restriction of 492 Nautical Miles one-way or 984 round-trip from the cutter's homeport of Gulfport, Mississippi. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The solicitation will be issued electronically via the Federal Business Opportunity web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. All work will be performed at the contractor's facility. The performance period is schedule for Forty-Four (44) calendar days and is expected to begin on or about January 5, 2011. The scope of the acquisition will include, but is not limited to: 1. Perform Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements 2. Perform Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements 3. Perform Hull and Structural Plating Repairs in Forepeak, Engine Room and Lazarette - Eroded Welds (Steel) 4. Clean and Inspect Dirty Oil Tank 5. Clean and Inspect Oily Water Tank 6. Clean and Inspect Fuel Service Tanks 7. Clean and Inspect Grey Water Tank 8. Clean and Inspect Sewage Tank 9. Clean Grey Water Piping System 10. Clean Sewage Piping System 11. Inspect RHIB Notch Skid Pads 12. Renew RHIB Notch Skid Pad Studs 13. Realign Main Engine/Reduction Gear 14. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts 15. Repair Shaft 16. Straighten Shaft 17. Renew Intermediate Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearing 18. Renew Aft Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearing 19. Renew Intermediate Bearing Carrier 20. Renew Aft Bearing Carrier 21. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers 22. Perform Minor Repair and Recondition of Propeller 23. Renew Depth Indicating Transducer 24. Renew Sea Valves and Inspect Associated Piping and Strainers 25. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies 26. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Stern Launch Door, and Inspect Door Pivot Pins, Bushings, and Washers 27. Preserve Underwater Body - Partial 28. Preserve Underwater Body - 100% 29. Preserve Stern Tubes 30. Modify and Renew Cathodic Protection System 31. Renew Transducer Fairing 32. Routine Drydocking 33. Provide Temporary Logistics 34. Modify and Preserve the Forepeak (EC 087-A-033) 35. Preserve Mast A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested.
