- The requirement for 9 phlebotomists and 3 Medical technicians will no longer be pursued through FEDBIZOPS or GSA. Upon further checking, it was found to meet all the requirements of a service contract, FAR 37.104(2) and the labor categories were listed as available under the Medical Commodity Council Spiral 1. Major General Green, Deputy Surgeon General stated in his policy letter dated 17 January 2008 "the Medical Commodity Council is the preferred contract vehicle for acquiring clinical services". Mr. Charlie Williams, SAF/AQC endorsed this decision via "What's New in AF Contracting" topic sent out to the field on 28 Jan 2008. As such this acquisition will be pursued using the Medical Commodity Council. I apologize if this caused you to perform unnecessary work staging for a possible request for Proposal (RFP). I hope you continue to look for all future opportunities.
