- Q1: Is language proficiency a required qualification or would it be acceptable to hire a translator? A1: Under the proposal requirements....#3 states...."a description of the small business's non-English language proficiencies"...therefore would be interested to know language proficiencies, if any, that can be brought to the project. This could be intrinsically associated with "cultural awareness" (selection criteria #3) and experience working directly with fishermen (selection criteria #1). Any plans to accommodate language concerns/needs can and should be included in the project proposal. Q2: Is the survey designed to investigate the responses of boat-based fishermen indigenous to the islands only or all boat-based fishermen regardless of their cultural background? A2: All boat-based fishermen.
