Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOTA REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. A SOLICITATION DOCUMETN WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED.The National Institues of Health, National Institutes on Aging intends to negotiate under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13. 106-1 (b) on a sole source basis with Dr. David Allison from the University of Alabama at Birmingham to provide a 12 month extension to cover the on going statistical needs of a long-term project. The NIA project titled, 'Assessment of Primate Aging: Effects of Caloric Modification,' is a longitudinal study. The study involves a wide range of data representing differenet organ systems in large samples of rhesus and squirrel monkeys. Dr. Allison is currently working on data sets to create mortality dn morbidity statistics, as this data set is constantly changing we need Dr. Allison's continual input and support. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is uniquely qualified to perform such complex statistical analyses. Because Dr. David Allison and his staff, of the Department of Biostatistics possess such expertise sole sourcing provides a quick, a efficient means of maintaining the support needed withou undue burden to both government and contractor organization. The North American Industry Code is 541690 and the Size Standard is $7.0M. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR 6, Competition Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties ma respond with comments for consideration in any future requirement.
