Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER: MATOC As part of Operations and Maintenance, Army, Recovery Act, this modification has been issued to Hartman Walsh Painting Company, to perform the following work: 1.1 Provide labor, materials and equipment to repair the cracked weld identified on the vertical strut and skin plate on tainter gate #2. Work includes: removing the existing paint around the cracked weld, grind/remove the full length (plus 1-inch) and depth of the cracked weld down to original steel, reweld the strut and skin plate connection with a 1/4-inch fillet weld. In the event that a gap is present insert a shim between the strut and skin plate and use either a larger fillet weld or step down with 2 fillet welds. 1.2 All steel repairs shall follow specification 05 05 50 of the original conract. All welds, procedures, qualifications, personnel etc., shall conform to the original construction specifications section 05 05 50 and as directed by the USACE Tulsa District EC-DC office. A certified welder/fabrication shop shall perform all welding and a certified welding inspector (C.W.I.) shall inspect all repair work; refer to specification 05055. All replaced steel components shall be properly prepared and painted per specification 099702 section 3.1.2. Paint system shall be system 5-E-Z. 1.3 Upon completion of the weld repairs the contractor shall prep and paint the heat damaged gate surfaces with the 5-E-Z paint system, on both the upstream and downstream sections of the tainter gate.
