Description
This is a pre-solicitation announcement for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center located in Indianapolis, Indiana. An Invitation for Bid will be issued on or about August 6, 2010 for construction Project No. 583-10-180 Expand Parking Cold Spring Road. This announcement is a total set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The VA is seeking a Contractor to provide all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the following work: Project 583-10-180 Expand Parking Cold Spring Road as detailed in the contract drawings and specifications. Project includes, but is not limited to, removal of up to six (6) inches of grass and soil, installation of four (4) inches of #2 stone (or approved alternate), installation of three (3) inches of #53 stone (or approved alternate) as well as removal of existing concrete curb as shown on the drawings and specifications at 2669 Cold Spring Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222. Work includes, but is not limited to, earthwork and demolition. All work performed must meet all applicable codes and regulations and be in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Completion Time: 30 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business firms (SDVOSB). The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238910 and size standard $14.0 million applies. In accordance with FAR 36.204, disclosure of the magnitude of this construction project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. As authorized by FAR 5.102, solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) System website (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about August 6, 2010 with a due date to be specified in the Solicitation. Further details of all dates and events, including site visit and bid opening date, will be available in the solicitation. All interested bidders (prime contractors & subcontractors) should register at www.fedbizopps.gov so that others will know of your interest in participating in this procurement and for automatic receipt of updates and/or amendments. A Bidders Mailing List WILL NOT be prepared nor distributed by the Contracting Officer, as it is the Bidders responsibility to register at the FedBizOpps website. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and acknowledging any amendments, and should re-visit the FBO website periodically to check for any modifications to this notice, updates, or amendments without further notice from the VA. Prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov, shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at http://www.ccr.gov, and be registered at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov prior to award of a contract. Prospective contractors are urged to become verified in VIP at vetbiz.gov. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
