Description
PLEASE NOTE: THIS ANNOUNCEMENT SUPERSEDES THE PREVIOUS PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. The U. S. Geological Survey, Western Region, Earthquake Science Center has a requirement for 17,000 ft of Seven Conductor Cable. The Government intends to award this requirement as "Brand Name or Equal" of the Rochester Stock Type 7-H-464A cable, with the Camesa Cable Type 7-J46RP as a comparable alternative. Additional specifications will be identified in the forthcoming solicitation. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract using the procedures of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." The Request for Quote (RFQ), number 10WRQQ0239, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE) on or about 05 August 2010, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(1). A formal solicitation is not available for release at this time. All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) at https://orca.bpn.gov/ to be considered for award. Responses must be in writing, by e-mail to the Contracting Officer at sklingler@usgs.gov. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-42, Effective 16 July 2010. This requirement is unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 331422, Copper Wire (except Mechanical), and the size standard is 1,000 employees.
