Description
This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service on a sole source basis with Marianda. The government intends to acquire supplies using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposed vendor will provide qty of one (1) each VINDTA 3S for delivery no later than Dec 31, 2010 to destination. The instrument is a fully automated tirator unit for measurement of total alkalinity in seawater samples from both ocean acidification laboratory experiments as well as yearly cruises. The VINDTA 3S is manufactured by Marianda, marine and analytics and data. The purchase of VINDTA 3S enables NOAA to continue collaboration of work with the University of Alaska, by allowing direct comparison of results which can only be achieved utilizing similar systems with the same precision. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 334513 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees. The Government intends to negotiate a firm fixed price contract. It is the Government's belief that only Marianda can provide this instrument. This notice represents the only official notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all submittals received by the due set forth in this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is a simplified acquisition estimated value not to exceed $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov.
