- THE FOLLOWING VENDORS ARE APPROVED BY APHIS FOR THE NEW GREEN PLASTIC: (1) SABIC POLYMESHAPES, 8233 NEPTUNE DR. STE B., KALAMAZOO, MI 49009; AND (2) PLASTIC CRAFTERS INCORPORATED (PCI), 1040 E. SPRINGFIELD ROAD, HIGH POINT, NC 27263. In spring 2010, APHIS intends to use a small number of green traps for testing based on the use of green corrugated plastic with a peak reflectance at 530 nm of 48.9%. APHIS is conducting a trial agreement of samples of green corrugated plastic (530 nm, 48.9% peak reflectance) for testing, approval, and use in emerald ash borer prism traps. The Statement of Work and a copy of the Trial Agreement to conduct evaluations of green corrugated plastic are attached. The approved plastic does not obligate the Government to procure or be construed as a mandatory source. APHIS will list the plastic companies that have been approved for use in the USDA, APHIS Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Program in the government's point of entry (GPE): www.fedbizopps.gov. PROSPECTIVE VENDORS MUST HAVE AN EXECUTED TRIAL AGREEMENT SIGNED BY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER BEFORE EVALUATION OF THEIR PLASTIC by 2:30 pm CST, November 23, 2009. Upon receipt of a signed trial agreement, the Government will furnish a paint standard and spectral readout of the color (Government Furnished Property-GFP). The vendor will have 28 days to provide an initial plastic sample for evaluation upon receipt of the GFP.
