- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain restoration services for the "INDIAN RIDGE MARSH ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION," located in Chicago, IL. The Contractor will be responsible for all necessary plant, facilities, labor, transportation, materials and equipment to restore the ecological project to include the maintenance and improvement of current habitat at the Indian Ridge Marsh (IRM) by removing woody invasive species with herbicide applications and prescribed burning, grubbing, seeding, and planting using appropriate seed mixes specific to each habitat type, and clearing and applying soil amendments; restoration of shoreline by creating a gentle transition from aquatic habitat to upland habitat; installation of water level control structures; improvement of trail system and establishment of access point ingress and egress for bikes; construction of a boardwalk to link the trail system to the Sidestream Elevated Pool Aeration (SEPA) station; and removal of debris throughout IRM site. The classification code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) is 561730, with a business size in dollars of $7.0 million. COMPETITION IS RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. Interested offerors can download the Invitation for Bids Package from the Internet Site https://www.fbo.gov under Solicitation Number W912P6-10-B-0007. The solicitation will be available on the Internet on July 28, 2010. The due date for bids will be on August 30, 2010 by 2:00 p.m. Chicago Local Time. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) for free at http://www.ccr.gov. Request for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax or e-mail will not be honored.
