- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to address the following vendor question and answer: Question: Would NIST consider resurfacing the existing rasied access floor surfacing? Answer: No. The old floor tiles are not able to be resurfaced due to the design that that is being used for the new floor tiles no longer uses the same type as the old floor tiles. NIST is now using floor tiles that have no edge, unlike the old floor tiles that did have edging which created safety issues by creating tripping hazards. The old floor tiles with an edge also did not create a close seal as the new floor tiles will, allowing air pressure to leak preventing proper cooling of the IT equipment. NIST does not want to mix floor tiles that are edged and floor tiles that are not. All floor tiles shall be consistant throughout the room. The due date for quotes, August 5, 2010 @ 3pm EST, remains unchanged.
