- Award of Modification No. 24 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Preparedness, Detection and Control of Infectious Disease (NCPDCID), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), Immunization Safety Office (ISO) seeks to upgrade its Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System's (VAERS) contract with Constella Group, LLC (Contract #200-2004-10182) to include technical upgrades and rapid signal enhancement to the VAERS infrastructure. VAERS has seen an increase in the number of influenza reports received, likely due to the enhanced awareness of VAERS during the 2009 H1N1 emergency response. In anticipation of the upcoming 2010 -2011 Influenza season. ISO expects the expanded influenza recommendations will lead to additional reports that must be reviewed and analyzed to meet the public needs. Additionally, as seen in the 2009 H1N1 emergency response, the VAERS system needs to have the ability to respond more quickly to unexpected pandemic public health emergencies. Based on the above, we believe that no other source, but Constella Group, LLC in Durham, NC can realistically meet our needs. Therefore, a modification to existing contract No. 200-2004-10182 to add this work is contemplated. The period of performance for this work is July 1, 2010 to June, 30 2011.
