THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Des Moines, Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project number 636A6-10-110 Building 3 Remodel Phase II at the Des Moines VA Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes upgrade of HVAC system and general modifications to interior walls, new and modified door and frames, new finishes in areas of new work, and related plumbing, mechanical and electrical work, including new and renovated toilet rooms and certain other items. Work in Phase II involves architectural work primarily on the Basement level. Work is to be completed within 240 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fbo.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.bpn.gov/CCR) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/) prior to award. Bidders must also be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fbo.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to Sarah.Davis4@va.gov. Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for Aug 13, 2010. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date is tentatively scheduled for Sep 13, 2010, at 12:00 NOON (CST), in Bldg. #2; Room #214 at the Des Moines, VAMC, Des Moines, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million. Cost range is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
