- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, National Geospatial Programs Office has a requirement for digital ortho imagery over seven entire counties and portions of another ten counties in the Houston-Galveston area.. The USGS has the opportunity to obtain all of this ortho imagery from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) at approx. 9.4% of the cost of the entire project because other governmental entities are contributing to this project. The data will be collected to the following specifications: 1) Imagery Source Date: December 2009-February 2010 2) Resolution: 1 ft. 3) Imagery Type: True Color 4) Projection: State Plane, Texas South Central Zone, feet 5) Datum: NAD 83 Datum 6) Horizontal Accuracy: Will meet National Map Standards for 1"=200' mapping (or maximum displacement of 5-7 ft. 7) Season: Leaf Off 8) Format of Native Data: Tiff 9) Media Distribution Type: External Hard Drive 10) FGDC-compliant metadata: Project-level metadata is required 11) Photo Index: A shapefile of a photo index (tilting Grid) of the project 12) Elevation Data: A copy of all elevation data used for this project. The delivery date is no later than 9/30/2010. All deliverable data and documentation shall be restricted from distribution in the public domain until May 1, 2012. Based on information available at this time, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), 3555 Timmons Lane Suite 120, Houston, Texas 77027 and proposes to negotiate with that organization on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and provide considerable cost sharing are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business July 30, 2010 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
