- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting Small Business contractors to remove and repair deteriorated or unsound concrete on surfaces of Franklin Falls Dam located in Franklin, New Hampshire. The project consists of repairs to the concrete of the east spillway retaining wall of the spillway approach channel, the east and west inlet channel retaining walls, the east and west outlet channel retaining walls and the center walls of the outlet channel stilling basin. The contractor shall determine actual repair locations and limits of deteriorated concrete by visual inspection and by tapping with a hammer or steel rod and listening for hollow sounds. The contractor shall then saw cut and remove all areas of unsound concrete a minimum of 1 inch deep and repair via shotcrete application. Upon shotcrete application completion, all vertical and horizontal joints shall be re-established by saw cutting or tooling, or via a similarly approved method. Additionally, deteriorated and unsound concrete patches on the crest of the spillway weir (at location of rock anchors) shall be repaired using portland cement concrete. The solicitation will be available on or about 13 August 2010 and will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http:/www.fbo.gov). In order to view this solicitation, prospective contractors are required to self register their firm with Federal Business Opportunities (go to http:/www.fbo.gov and register under Vendor/Citizen). Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at the http:/www.fbo.gov website. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests will be accepted. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the FedBizOps Registration List. This procurement is set aside for Small Business firms. The estimated cost of the contract is estimated between $250,000 to $500,000.00. The applicable NAICS code is 238110 with a Small Business Size Standard of $14,000,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District.
