Description: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is released pursuant to FAR Part 15.201(e), Exchanges with Industry. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Laboratories and Scientific Services (LSS) are issuing this RFI regarding Direction Finding (DF) Processor. CBP is searching for a DF Receiver/Processor system for the detection of radio communications in the VHF and UHF with a range of 20HMz to 1GHz with no gaps. The DF processor will also incorporate reception modes cover narrowband FM, wideband FM, AM USB, LSB and CW. The DF Receiver/Processor will have the capability of either scanning by channel or scanning by frequency. Note: The DF Receiver/Processor systems can include the additional valued options such as: Embedded CPU, menu driven, have multiple RS-232 Interfaces and include Bitmapped-graphics display, standard PC parallel printer port, PC AT compatible keyboard interface and PC compatible VGA monitor port (for external display), extensive remote control and monitoring functions. To summarize, we are looking for a DF Receiver/Processor system (including antenna) that is suited for vehicle and stationary use where wide frequency coverage and sophisticated operating features are required. All replies should include a detailed technical specification report. QUESTIONS OR INQUIRIES: No questions shall be accepted regarding this RFI. Responses to this notice will not be returned, nor will there be any ensuing discussions or debriefings of any responses. This notice is part of Government Market Research, a continuous process for obtaining the latest information on the commercial status of the industry. This RFI is for planning purposes, and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement action will follow. CBP will use the information submitted in response to this notice at its discretion and will not provide comments to any submission; however, CBP reserves the right to contact any respondent to this notice for the sole purpose of enhancing CBP's understanding of the notice submission. T he content of any responses to this notice may be reflected in any subsequent solicitation. In accordance with FAR 15.202(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI, including any subsequent product demonstrations. All responses are to be: provided on company letterhead, limited to 15 pages, and limited to commercially available off-the-shelf products (developmental products are not being considered). Responses must demonstrate compliance with the system specifications listed above, include the applicable Federal Supply Schedule contract number and be submitted via e-mail, only, in Microsoft Office format. SUBMISSION ARE DUE no later than 12:00 noon on August 13, 2010. The response shall be e-mailed to: herman.shivers@dhs.gov. All packages submitted electronically or by electronic Media shall be free of any computer virus. If a virus is found, the package will be destroyed and a replacement provided within 3 days after notification.
