MICHELE WATERSPHONE/FAX907-271-5021/907-271-6446EMAILMICHELE_WATERS@NBC.GOV DESCRIPTION OF TASK UNDER ORDER: US Geological Science Center Volcano Observatory (AVO) has a requirement for helicopter support to perform multidisciplinary work (Geophysical monitoring, and Geologic investigation) at Mt. Spurr, Redoubt Volcano and Augustine (Cook Inlet region, Alaska). This work is performed by multiple agencies (USGS, UAF, and ADGGS) working under ARRA -established Cooperative Agreements. The helicopter charter period is firm and extends from 22 July, 2010 through 24 August 2010 (34 days). This charter period includes transit days to move ship between vendor's base of operation and work area and accommodates pilot days off. There will be various bases of operation throughout the length of this charter; these may include Anchorage, Kenai, Homer and DROT (Drift River Oil Terminal). Particular schedules will be worked out between USGS and the vendor. A Bell B-model (or equal) is the most time and cost efficient aircraft to meet the long range, heavy weight requirements of this work. The work includes transporting of field crew and equipment between the base camp on Umnak and numerous field sites. Some sling work is required to move certain equipment. Pop-out floats are required for over-water travel.
