Description
This requirement is to provide all labor, materials, and equipment to provide for the future increase of circuits that are connected to the existing emergency generator, and will include the installation of additional emergency power panels throughout the building as shown on drawings and specifications. Also included will be the placement of further additional emergency outlets and/or hard wire connections in various areas in the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center (VAACC-Columbus), 420 N. James Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219-1834. Construction and maintaining of dust barriers around work areas to ensure safety of patients and staff will be required. All work for this project shall be done in such a way as to maintain the safe usage of adjacent space for patients, staff and visitors to the VAACC-Columbus at all times. All OSHA and NFPA codes shall be followed. SET-ASIDE INFORMATION: This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the authority of Public Law 109-461 (38 USC 8127) and is a 100% Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The SDVOSB must be small under the relevant North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code and MUST be registered and able to be verified in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx, https://vets100.vets.dol.gov, and http://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. Bidders MUST ensure registration in these websites are accurate and have not expired prior to bid opening date. Project magnitude is between $250,000.00--$500,000.00. The NAICS code is 238210 and the business size standard is $14 million. BONDS in form of Bid, Payment and Performance will be required. SITE VISIT: will be scheduled and that information will be in the solicitation package. The solicitation documents will be posted at https://www.fbo.gov/ on or about July 17, 2010, with bid opening approximately 30 days later. Dissemination of the specifications is limited to electronic medium. Specifications and Drawings will be available electronically with the solicitation documents. All interested Bidders (primes & subcontractors) should register at https://www.fbo.gov/ so that others will know of your interest in participating in this procurement and for automatic receipt of updates or amendments. A Bidder's mailing list or site visit attendees WILL NOT be prepared nor distributed by the Contracting Officer, as it is the Bidders responsibility to register at the https://www.fbo.gov/ website in the watchlist and interested vendor sections. SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS: Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at https://www.fbo.gov/. Paper copies of the amendment will NOT be individually mailed. By registering in the watchlist and any other appropriate sections, you will be notified by e-mail of any new amendments that have been issued and posted. No other notification amendment will be provided. Bidders are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation prior to the time for receipt of offers as prescribed by FAR 52.214-3 Amendments to Invitation for Bids. Bidders should re-visit the Website periodically to look for updates. All requests for information are required to be in writing to the Contracting Officer and shall be received within 10 days prior to bid opening; no telephone inquiries will be accepted.
