Description
NASA/ARC has a requirement for one(1) microscope lens and two(2) close-up infraredlenses. NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) intends to use these lenses on two existing FLIRSystems infrared research-grade cameras to conduct research.NASA/ARC intends to issue a sole source contract for the purchase of the microscope lensand infrared lenses from FLIR Systems, Inc. FLIR Systems, Inc25 Esquire RoadNorth Billerica, MA 01862The contractor must provide all of the following requirements: 1. FLIR Systems ThermaCAM SC3000 Microscope Lens or approved equal.-Spectral Range: The lens shall be optimized to operate over the infrared spectral rangeof 8.0 to 9.0 microns.-Field of View: The lens shall have a field of view of 10mm by 7.5mm at the minimum focusdistance.-Minimum Focus Distance: The lens shall have a minimum focus distance of 26mm.-Mechanical Interface: The lens shall attach to the input aperture of the FLIR SystemsSC3000 ThermaCAM infrared camera.-Anti-Reflection Coating: The lens shall be coated to minimize reflection over thespectral band from 8.0 to 9.0 microns.-Automatic Lens Identification: The lens shall be equipped with electrical contacts andinternal circuitry which enables the camera to automatically identify the lens when it isattached to the camera body.2. FLIR Systems Titanium SC7900VL Close-up x1 or approved equal.-Spectral Range: The lens shall be optimized to operate over the infrared spectral rangeof 7.7 to 11.5 microns.-Field of View: The lens shall have a field of view of 9.6mm by 7.7mm at the minimumfocus distance.-Minimum Focus Distance: The lens shall have a minimum focus distance of 45mm.-Mechanical Interface: The lens shall attach to the input aperture of the FLIR SystemsSC7900VL Titanium infrared camera.-Anti-Reflection Coating: The lens shall be coated to minimize reflection over thespectral band from 7.7 to 11.5 microns.3. FLIR Systems Titanium SC7900VL Close-up x3 or approved equal.-Spectral Range: The lens shall be optimized to operate over the infrared spectral rangeof 7.7 to 11.5 microns.-Field of View: The lens shall have a field of view of 3.2mm by 2.6mm at the minimumfocus distance.-Minimum Focus Distance: The lens shall have a minimum focus distance of 40mm.-Mechanical Interface: The lens shall attach to the input aperture of the FLIR SystemsSC7900VL Titanium infrared camera.-Anti-Reflection Coating: The lens shall be coated to minimize reflection over thespectral band from 7.7 to 11.5 microns.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. local timeon_08/05/2010_. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
