- The Naval Surface Warfare Center - Panama City Division intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to National Technical Systems (NTS) for, 10 each, Shock Isolators, Model DTI-1A-75; 12 each, Shock Isolators, Model DTI-1A-88. The Shock Isolators being procured are required to fabricate the Amphibious Assault Direction System (AADS) computer workstations. These items are identical to the equipment that is currently installed. National Technical Systems (NTS) is the only manufacturer of these items. These specific items have gone through the shock and vibration testing required for certification of their safety for shipboard installation. Purchase of any other manufacturer's equipment would require duplication of the shock and vibration testing already performed on this NTS equipment at a cost estimated to exceed the cost of the components being procured. Therefore, it is in the Government's best interest to purchase this material from NTS. Delivery will be to NSWC PCD/CO NSAPC 101 Vernon Avenue Panama City Beach, FL 32407-7001. The basis for award is a responsive bid for a fair and reasonable price. Anticipated award date will be on or about 28 July 2010.
