- Description
- The proposed contract action is for Primary Lens, Part Number: 5-1-2935 which is a component of the M45 Protective Mask. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This solicitation is restricted to MXL Industries, Inc., 1764 Rohrerstown Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 and its authorized suppliers and distributors. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency. This requirement is for a guaranteed quantity of 15,000 each Primary Lenses with a 150% evaluated option. The Primary Lens is made of optical grade polycarbonate material. The Primary Lens has unique durability requirements such as chemical resistance to military agents GB and liquid mustard (HD), haze after boiling, abrasion resistance, room and low temperature impact, coating adhesion (after humid and weathering), etc. Estimated issue date is July 30, 2010. First Article testing is required. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm CAUTION: The solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain and said amendments, which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for the bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
