- Description
- This project includes the removal and disposal of existing steel plate culvert, and installation of new corrugated metal pipe arch culvert with lean concrete material for bedding and backfill. A precast concrete cutoff wall is to be furnished and installed. Also included in the project is the furnishing and placing of aggregate surfacing and riprap rock. Traffic control and pollution prevention will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Disturbed sites, outside of the traveled-way, are to be reseeded. Work on this project will also consist of furnishing and placing unclassified borrow for roadway embankment construction. Roadway embankment borrow is to come from a commercial source or Forest Service pit, if approved. Project Location – The project is located in Section 18, T7S, R26E, on Road #2038 (Pryor Mountain Road) approximately 23 miles southeast of Bridger, Montana. Price Range – Between $25,000 and $100,000. Pre-bid Tour – No prebid tour is planned for this project. Prospective bidders wishing to visit the site on their own may obtain directional information by contacting Jacob Ormes at the Forest Supervisor's Office, Custer National Forest, Billings, Montana, telephone (406) 657-6205 ext. 265, or the Beartooth District Office, Red Lodge, Montana, telephone (406) 446-2103. Start Work – It is estimated that work will begin in August 2008. Period of Performance – Work shall be completed by October 31, 2008. Government Furnished Materials – A borrow source for roadway embankment is located on National Forest System Lands, approximately 1.5 miles to west of project area. Contractor is responsible for development and reclamation of the pit, and for the proper mixing, delivery and placing of the material. It is anticipated the solicitation for this project will be posted to the FBO website the week of July 21, 2008.
