- Description
- The Government intends to lease bulk helium tube trailers and or bulk helium ISO containers with chassis that will be used by the U.S. Military in Iraq and Afghanistan. If the tubes in the trailers or ISOs chassis are tested using the acoustic emissions method of testing, the applicable DOT Special Permit must be valid and must accompany each unit. Paragraph 9 of the Special Permit must authorize the tubes to be transported by motor vehicle, rail, and vessel cargo. Authorization for transportation by air cargo is favorable, but not required. The maximum length of the trailers or ISOs/Chassis is 48 feet. Deivery is FOB Origin between August 15, 2010 and August 31, 2010 or sooner if possible.. A "Statement of Objectives" will be provided to interested parties, along with a spreadsheet to be used to provide specific information needed for each trailer or ISO/Chassis, such as volume capacity, maximum pressure, length, width, height, weight, number of tubes, retest date, and date available.. The Contracting Officer will begin taking oral quotes from interested parties beginning Monday July 19, 2010.
