- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number N68836-10-T-0286 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the latest edition of the Federal Acquisition Circular. This solicitation is issued as a 100 percent set aside for small business, NAICS Code 336611 applies The Naval Support Activity New Orleans, LA Port Operations requires the overhaul of the Deck Barge in accordance with the following. 1. Description - Landing Barge YC1646, located at Naval Support Activity (NSA) New Orleans, requires resurfacing of the non-skid deck. Manufacturer: Orange Shipbuilding Company, Inc. Orange, TX 77630. 2. Requirements - Contractors work most be performed on-site at NSA New Orleans. The Government will not delivery barges to another location. Contractor is responsible for floating crane services if required. Contractors must submit quote examples of similar work performed of a similar scope and nature within the past 3-5 years with references. All work to be completed within 45 days of contract award.Scope of Work: Non-skid Resurface. The resurfacing includes removal of old non-skid from the deck by mechanically cleaning 111 ft X 35 ft deck barge to SSPC-SP3. Apply approved primer (International Interguard 264, Dark Gray) one coat to all deck areas and 6 inch vertical on all handrail and light foundations 6 mil dry. Resurface the deck with international non-skid coating EGA650-6 kit, Dark Gray. All work must be in accordance with Naval Ship's Technical Manual (NSTM) 643 which discusses requirements for the use of primer, application of non-skid and conditions under which it can be applied to naval ships and vessels.
