- PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING will be held on July 22, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at the Hood River Ranger District office, 6780 Highway 35, Parkdale, OR. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Work includes: 1) reduce fuel loadings on approximately 298 acres to 8-10 tons per acre by removing existing down material, cutting standing dead and dying trees, and yarding material to designated landings where it will be processed; 2) Secure an approved storage area capable of stockpiling 20,000 cubic yards of material; and 3) Haul and deliver aged wood spears/compost from storage facility to designated location(s) along Highway 35. The project is located in Hood River County, OR, approximately 14 miles from Hood River, OR on State Highway 35. The project is located within the Mill Creek Drainage off of Forest System Road 1700. Estimated start date is September 7, 2010. The performance period of this project is approximately 3 years.
