- Sources sought synopsis announcement for market research in support of all necessary resources to perform contractor-furnished temporary Dining Facility or Facilities Full Food Services (FFS) preparing Unitized Group Ration-As (UGR-AS) with milk, cereal and fresh fruits & veggies, off of the cantonment area, in select austere training areas (45-60 minutes from cantonment area), on Fort Irwin, California property. FFS services could start within 30-60 days of any future request for proposal for the services to support up-to 10,000 meals per day-5000 Breakfast & 5,000 Dinners. The contractor-furnished temporary facility or facilities for meal preparation would have its own kitchen setup to provide the highest quality meals in an area or areas where no public or otherwise utility services exist. The FFS facility (ies) must be contractor self-sustaining and leave no residual effects after the period of performance. The information received from this announcement will be utilized for planning purposes within the Government to facilitate the decision making processes and will not be disclosed outside of the Government. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or for any follow-up information requests. This notice does not constitute a Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose other than market research. Further, the Government is not seeking proposals nor will accept proposals at this time, and, will not accept any unsolicited proposals. Respondents, or Public otherwise, will not be notified of the results of this market research. Any and all information or data received in response to this Sources Sought Synopsis that is marked or designated as vendor proprietary information will be fully protected from release outside the Government. Since this is a Sources Sought announcement, no debrief, evaluation letters, and/or results will be issued to the participants. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses, and if the Government plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps). No telephone calls will be accepted requesting a proposal package or solicitation. There is no proposal package for a solicitation at this time. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointments for presentations will be made. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis are due no later than Thursday,22 July 2010, 2:00 p.m., PDT, local time. The responses should be submitted electronically via e-mail to Ms. Kathy Neece, Contracting Officer, at kathy.neece@us.army.mil and Mr. Gus Lum, at garsun.lum@us.army.mil. The point of contact for questions regarding this synopsis is Mr. Gus Lum. Facsimile submittals will not be accepted. Responses received after the deadline or without the required information shall be considered unacceptable and will not be considered.
