Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This is for a market survey only; therefore, no requirement exists so do not request a copy of the solicitation. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The U.S. Air Force, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC has been tasked to identify sources and market conditions for the purchase of a full-scale, REPLICA Spitfire MK IIA to be mounted as an outdoor, in-flight static display. The exact markings and paint/camouflage scheme will be provided at the time of the solicitation. The proposed project will be a Firm-Fixed Priced contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of members of both the Small Business Community, to include Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) as well as Large Businesses to compete and perform a Firm-Fixed Price contract to manufacture and deliver (F.O.B. Destination) an authentic full-scale replica Spitfire MK IIa aircraft, wheels up, to Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. As part of the information sought is the anticipated lead time from date of award of a subsequent contract to delivery of the Spitfire and anticipated price. Price shall include all materials, production set-up, manufacturing, fees and shipping of the Spitfire and a mounting pole to Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. In addition to the above, responses to this synopsis shall include a capabilities statement about the company and it's ability to provide this type of aircraft as well as specifications for the aircraft All submittals received will be reviewed for informational purposes. The type of solicitation to be issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought synopsis. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors.
