Description
Performance Work Statement Cleaning Services for Kitchen Hoods & Ducts And Clothes Dryer Exhaust Systems U. S. Coast Guard Academy New London, Connecticut All interested companies/vendors are to email Mr. Kevin Gustin to receive RFQ package. RFQ package will be forwarded via email. Solicitation is for Base Year plus 4 Option Years with Base Year Period of Performance starting 01 Oct 2010 through 30 Sep 2011. 1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision to ensure that hood and duct cleaning services for the kitchen exhaust and range hoods, and clothes dryer exhaust systems are performed at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT in a satisfactory manner. 2. REFERENCE. The following reference is a binding part of this Performance Work Statement: NFPA Standard 96, Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations 3. BASIC SERVICES. The contractor shall inspect, clean and maintain hoods and ducts systems listed in paragraph 5 in accordance with NFPA Standard 96 and other local, state, and federal rules and procedures. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with applicable safety standards and codes in order to eliminate the possibility of damage to installed machinery, equipment and building structures. 3.1 Submitted Annual Work Plan. For all scheduled work under this Performance Work Statement, the contractor shall submit a written annual work plan detailing the planned dates of work, work to be performed, estimated work start time and estimated work completion time. It is essential that work to be performed within operating kitchens be scheduled around peak cooking times (see paragraph 4). The contractor’s first annual work plan shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative no later than 14 calendar days after award of contract and no later than 1 October of each year thereafter. 3.2 Inspection. The Contractor shall inspect each hood and duct exhaust system in accordance with NFPA Standard 96 and manufacturers’ instructions. 3.3 Operational Tests. The Contractor shall perform operational tests on hoods and duct exhaust systems in accordance with NFPA Standard 96 and manufacturers’ instructions. 3.4 Preventative Maintenance. The Contractor shall perform preventative maintenance on hoods and exhaust systems in accordance with NFPA Standard 96 and manufacturers’ instructions. 3.5 Inspection Report. The contractor shall submit a report of all hood and duct exhaust system tests, inspections, and maintenance accomplished. Reports shall include a record of conditions, completed tests, inspections results, and preventative maintenance performed on a system. Report shall clearly specify any follow up corrective maintenance needed for each item inspected/tested, and clearly describe any functional problems with mechanical or non-mechanical equipment. 4. HOURS OF OPERATION: Except for emergency repair work, all work shall be scheduled as follows: 4.1 For systems 001 through 006: All work in the Chase Hall Galley and All Hands Dining Facility shall be performed after 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and excluding Federal Holidays. 4.2 For systems 007 through 011: All work shall be performed after 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and excluding Federal Holidays. 4.3 For systems 012 through 020: All work shall be performed between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and excluding Federal Holidays. 5. LOCATIONS OF HOODS AND EXHAUST SYSTEMS. Will be part of package to interested parties.
