Description
Purpose: To identify potential sources and candidate solutions that may satisfy the KW CASUP 3-Phase Inverter requirements as provided in the attached thin specification, and to solicit feedback regarding the high level requirements captured in this document. The responses to this RFI will be used to develop an initial list of potential offerors that may elect to participate in a future Request for Proposal (RFP) leading to the execution of a competitively awarded contract to provide a 3-Phase Inverter for KW CASUP. Background: The KW CASUP program is managed by the Armed Scout Helicopter Product Managers office located in Redstone Arsenal, AL. The KW CASUP program is a collection of obsolescence and capability upgrades for the Kiowa Warrior Helicopter. This includes power system upgrades to allow the Common Missile Warning System to be powered up on battery power. A 3-phase inverter will be required in order to provide the power necessary for this to occur. A 3-phase Inverter RFP is scheduled for release in approximately July 2010. Instructions: The attached thin specification defines the high level functional performance, system interface, and environmental requirements that must be met by the future KW CASUP 3-Phase Inverter. For each technology or product candidate, the interested party should provide a compliance matrix to the ITEM spec indicating where the candidate fails to meet, meets or exceeds the requirement. If requirements cannot be met, the amount of deviation shall be indicated and the impact of attaining compliance included in their response. Any information provided in the RFI is going to be used to develop the final Item Specification for procurement. No proprietary information should be submitted with the interested partys submission. Request that interested parties provide a written response to this RFI NLT 15 days after RFI release to the U.S. Army Contracting Center, ATTN: CCAM-RD-RED, Ms. Donna L. Smith, Contracting Officer, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898 or email: donna.smith2@us.army.mil. Submissions can be through written correspondence and/or electronic mail. Responses should include, at a minimum: name and address of the interested company or organization; contact information for the primary POC; a brief description of the potential offerors company/organization and candidate technology or product as it relates to the KW CASUP 3-phase inverter requirement; and any comments or questions regarding the requirements contained in the attached document. Comments regarding the attached item specification will be considered in the formulation of the final RFP requirements. Questions: Any technical questions should be directed to Ms. Christina L. Amos, Project Engineer, RDMR-SEN, at (256) 313-2535 or christina.l.amos@us.army.mil.
