Description
This document corresponds to the changes made in Amendment I to the solicitation. The purposes of Amendment I to the solicitation are as follows: 1. To provide responses to questions posed by potential Offerors. 2. To attach a Revised Minimum Specifications I document to reflect the changes noted in the responses to the questions. Below are the questions posed with their respective responses from NIST: Q: In section 6, Software, Maui is requested. Cluster Resources/Adaptive Computing explicitly precludes any hardware vendor from installing this software. Is NIST aware of this license restriction, and will NIST be able to download and install this software? A: NIST was not aware of the licensing restrictions of the Maui scheduler which restrict the software distribution to be between Cluster Resources or its authorized distribution and services partners and end users. NIST can obtain and configure the Maui software from Cluster Resources without vendor assistance. The attached document entitled Revised Minimum Specifications I shows that Maui is no longer a requirement. Q: Also in section 6, are both Portland Group and Intel compilers required? For an Intel based cluster, Intel is highly recommended over Portland Group. A: Both types of compilers are required for this cluster. Q: In section 7, you indicate available power consists of three L5-30 120V single-phase receptacles. Do you have the ability to any more of these, as we don't believe it will be enough to power this cluster? A: We have examined the machine-room environment, and there is additional power available from several (up to four) NEMA 5-20R 120V outlets. Note that all power reaching the machines must be UPS-backed. All Offerors shall use this amendment when composing and submitting proposals. Please see the attached document entitled revised Minimum Specifications I. END OF TEXT.
