- Pre-Solicitation Notice The US Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, intends to solicit by sealed bid for a fixed price contract construction project. The estimated construction cost is between $1M and $5M. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement is 237990. The small business size standard for this requirement is $33.5 Million in average annual receipts over the past three years. Project Description: Execute a construction project at the Soo Locks, Sault St Marie, MI., that shall include, but not limited to, removing 12 ft of depth from approximately 300 ft of existing crib dam and replacing it with concrete L Walls. Steel sheet piling will be placed along the headrace face of the crib dam to act as a cofferdam and permanent element of the required structure. An existing duct bank running from the main powerhouse to the footbridge structure is required to be supported during construction. A new duct bank will be installed from the footbridge to the west end of the structure. General Information: Location: Soo Locks, Sault St Marie, MI This project will be advertised as a small business set aside. The estimated award date of the contract is 15 September 2010. The contract will have 180 day completion requirement. The solicitation is anticipated to be available approximately 29 Jul 2010. To download the solicitation, visit www.fbo.gov.
